How vegan business owners are using our platform

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]When you come across something new, it is natural to feel somewhat daunted by it all.  It all looks so different to everything else you’re used to.  We get it.  And with OhSo, the platform is so full of different tools for vegan business owners that you do need to take the time to get familiar with each area.

With that in mind, I’m simply going to go thru the more basic details of how you can use our vegan social network platform for your business.  Once you’ve cleared the 4 basic steps, you will feel comfortable with venturing into the other areas of our platform.

Here’s a quick intro first : For close to 2 decades now, I have been studying the internet, the trends, the successes and the flops.  I ‘ve been watching the vegan community grow online for this long too. And I’ve noticed a lot of exciting home-based projects popping up – directories, communities, blogs, videos, etc.

I did notice, however, that vegan business owners have a hard time reaching out to  their audience.  Social media is flooded with internet marketers, the self-entitled “influencers”.  Are they even vegan?  Who knows.  The other day, a friend was discussing how, from his perspective, a number of these so-called “influencers” were purposely created, not by themselves, but by brands.  The goal, he argues, is to control the vegan market by controlling what products these vegan influencers promote.  I see his point.  I mean, even Nestlé has vegan products these days!! (if you’re not a vegan you might not get this joke…)  Truth or not, fact is, small vegan businesses with a small budget, like us, find it difficult to reach out to their audience.

So, that, in a nutshell, is what OhSo is about.  Giving the vegan business owner a place of their own.  Exclusive for vegans.  With a vegan community.  And tools to promote your vegan services or products to your exact audience.  You no longer need to spend thosands on hit-or-miss ads in those huge social networks.  Our community IS your audience.  We are right here.  Waiting to hear about your products, and your services.

So, like I said, I studied the www to see what works and what doesn’t.  And I brought together what works in this platform.  And, central to everything I do is to support vegan business.  So, here’s a quick intro into how you can use our platform to promote your vegan business to our vegan audience.[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=”64px”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_column_text]

The community

The first and central area of the platform is the community.  There, you have your own profile, where you can tell your customers about your business, add your most important links and centralize everything you do on OhSo – your videos, your images, your posts, listings, store products, everything.

So, your first step is to set up your profile.  It is your business’s “face”.

I’m not posting any links purposely because I want to invite you to get used to where everything is.  So, to reach your profile, you’ll find the link at the top right-hand corner.  Have a look now.  See where your username is?  Click that and it will open up your profile’s menu.  Once you’re done reading this post, head over there to get started.

Once you’re done with your profile setup, you’re ready to join the community.  Although, as I write this, there are still a few days to go before the community is open to a wider audience, nothing is stopping you from sharing.  Sharing works like all other social networks.  You share an article from your website, for example, to attract more readers.  You add relevant hashtags for the community to find your post today, next week, next month or next year.

As you share your articles, you can also share videos from your YouTube or Vimeo accounts too for more viewers.

Images are somewhat different right now because the community is not 100% open.  For example, once we’re open, you will be able to pin products from our vegan marketplace, for example, to earn a commission on each sale.  But, for that to happen, you need to get the OK from each vendor.  For that to happen, vendors would like to see more about you.  So, post some photos, add some videos, share your articles, fill up your profile with interesting stuff, get interactive with the rest of the community.

Another tool we provide our members is podcasts.  I love the power of the voice.  And podcasts are getting more and more interesting.  So, if you are a podcaster, upload your podcast to get more long-term listeners.  And if you have an existing audience somewhere else, do let them know about your new podcast gallery at OhSo.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_single_image image=”55035″ img_size=”full” add_caption=”yes” alignment=”center” onclick=”link_image”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]

Local groups

Inside the community, you’ll soon notice that you also have Local Groups.  Basically, a local community.  Share your articles, photos, videos, podcasts, and interact with fellow local members in your country’s group.

Once your community profile is looking good, it’s time to dive into the other areas of our platform.  Once the community opens later in April, the activity timeline of each group will appear in each country’s page.  So, it’s well worth the time to dice into your local group and get interactive early.

You can guest post, for example.  One massive advantage to guest posting is, of course, the so-called SERP goodness.  SERP = Search Engine Results Page.  Ask any SEO specialist what they would recommend for traffic, and I will bet they will all tell you that guest posting is the one the one thing you can do to guarantee a long-term flow of traffic to your website.

Our guest posters like to post on OhSo because our audience is entirely vegan.  Like their audience.  Plus, it gives them the ability to promote their own websites in a bigger, up-and-coming niche-related platform like ours that, given the multitude of tools available, will attract a wide audience day-by-day.  Our  guest-posting section is even more attractive because it is, in fact, a vlog, meaning, guest posters can add one of their YouTube or Vimeo videos to their post, driving a daily audience to their videos too.

Please be aware that we need  to keep stringent editorial guidelines to guarantee the success of our platform.  If you don’t feel comfortable with your writing, or if you don’t have time to write your own posts, you can hire a vegan writer to help you.  Because I support vegan business, I always recommend a vegan writer for writing services.  So, I’m putting together a list of vegan writers in our Business Directory for you to peruse.  And, next week, we are launching our Vegan Freelancer Marketplace.  Stay tuned.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]

Green Business Directory

Speaking of directories, 78% of our visitors, even before our official launch, visit our Green Business Directory.  People want to support vegan business, and actively look for local vegan and green businesses near them.  Not just restaurants, but all kinds of service providers.  I’m moved by how the vegan community around the world is truly keen to support vegan business, and this is a testament of this trend.

So, get listed.  It’s free. And it’s an added bonus for your business.  Learn more about our directories.

While you’re in the directories section, do make sure to list any upcoming events you’ll be participating in.  Local events appear in our local pages.  So, do take advantage of our events directory.

If you’re looking for the links to all the different areas I’m talking about, I’m purposely not posting them in the article.  The menu at the top of the page has all the links.  I’m not being lazy.  I’m hoping you can get thru this entire post without falling asleep.  Just because, if you can get thru this post, you will have a much clearer idea about how you can use our platform for your business.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]

Vegan Marketplace

Depending on your business, you may want to sell your products in our vegan marketplace.  Opening in mid to late April, our vegan marketplace will feature vendors from around the world who sell vegan products.  Although our visitors can see and purchase products from all over the world, we do have a policy of promoting local products to our visitors.  For example, a visitor with an IP from Spain will first see products made in Spain.  We are avid supporters of #shoplocal

Each vendor gets their own store to list their own products.  A bit like Etsy. But as a vendor in our marketplace you get the added bonus of counting on our growing community to help you promote your products. And, later on, I’ll tell you more about our Vegan Affiliate Program.  That’s really going to ramp up your sales!

The products you see featured in our store right now are just showcasing different vendors from around the world.  We are still selecting vendors, and so our marketplace will not be open before mid to late April.  Nonetheless, nothing is stopping you from signing up right now.  Get your profile set up so our moderators can better see who you are, then sign up in our marketplace and we’ll get your storefront open immediately for you can start adding your products to your store.

Now, let’s move into the niche section of our platform.[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]

Niche channels

A list of our current channels can be found on the left-hand sidebar. You may not see this sidebar if you are using a mobile device.  That was done on purpose too.  Who works on a mobile phone anyway???

Our channels are broken up into different niches for our visitors to more easily find what they are looking for.  For example, if a visitor is interested in learning more about vegan hair products, our Fashion and Beauty Channel will feature a selection of vegan hair products from vendors in our vegan marketplace.  Our visitor will also find local vegan hairdressers.  And local events. For example a vegan fashion show.  Our visitor will also find video tutorials curated by us and our community.  And, of course, our member guest posts relevant to the fashion and beauty niche will also be listed there for our visitor to find.

This is why guest posting is such a tremendous tool for vegan businesses.  By contributing to our niche channels, you are attracting a niche audience to your own website.

The same goes for our country pages.  We are putting together a page for each and every country that will provide local visitors with everything they are looking – local vegan businesses, local news, the local community.

One very important channel is our Vegan Food Network.  There, members of our community are all welcome to share their favourite vegan recipes.  Members who share their recipes with us earn a commission from products from our vegan marketplace that they choose to promote alongside their recipes.  They also earn a commission on ads from our VeganAds program.  More on that in a minute…

If you’re interested in sharing your recipes with the community, head over to the Vegan Food Network and subscribe.  Be sure to have your profile all filled up and looking beautiful for our moderators to give you the go-ahead to start sharing your recipes.

To end this long post, there’s only 2 more things to talk about.  The first is our VeganAds – the first and only advertising network that is exclusive for vegan brands and services.  Basically, it works like Google AdWords, but its only for vegan brands and services.  Of course, our VeganAds is also cookie-less, meaning GDPR-compliant and non-invasive.  In simpler terms, VeganAds does not breach ANY privacy data laws, nor does it store any cookies in your computer.  So, to summarize, VeganAds is nothing like Google AdWords.  And that is something we are very proud of.

With VeganAds, you can set up an advert and have it displayed across thousands of vegan blogs and websites.  This is because VeganAds is also a publisher network that works like Google AdSense.  Our publishers show VeganAds on their sites, and earn for every click generated.

Give it a go.  You’ve got a €100 coupon (about US$100) to test-drive it for free and get some free traffic.

To get started, find the channel that is of most interest to you.  For example, if you are a vegan hairdresser, pick our Fashion and Beauty Channel.  From there, click on the ad section where it says “advertise with us”.  Simply fill in your ad details, use the €100 coupon coupon available on the page for a free ad, and hit publish  Once approved, your ad will display in our Hair & Beauty Channel.  Simple.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”2/3″][vc_column_text]

Vegan Affiliate Program

Finally, I’d like to introduce you to our Vegan Affiliate Program.  Another first.  It works just like the Amazon affiliate program.  You can add affiliate links to your blog to promote products from our Vegan Marketplace.  And you earn a commission for every sale.  When I say it works just like Amazon, I’m lying.  Because, our affiliate program is exclusive for vegan products, and, our affiliate links do not suck up any private data.  I think I mentioned this once or twice, but we are GDPR-compliant, as are all our tools, including our affiliate program.

Although the full program will only shoot off once we open our Vegan Marketplace later on in April, you can already get started by referring others to OhSo and get paid for it.

Full details will be made available to you once our moderators get your subscription.  Subscribe now.

That is all for now.  I believe that, for an introduction, you will have enough material on  this page to show you how you can use our platform to promote your business, attract more visitors to your website, videos and other social media platforms.

If you have any questions, please contact us.  We’re here to help.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/3″][vc_single_image image=”54952″ img_size=”full” alignment=”right” onclick=”custom_link” img_link_target=”_blank” link=””][/vc_column][/vc_row]
